Article 32 (Prohibition of Stopping and Parking)

No driver of any vehicle shall stop or park their vehicle in any of the places specified in the following subparagraphs. However, this shall not apply to cases where the vehicle is stopped or parked in accordance with this Act, orders issued under this Act, or instructions from a police officer, or when stopping temporarily to prevent danger. <Amended by Act No. 15421, Feb. 9, 2018; Act No. 17509, Oct. 20, 2020; Act No. 17777, Dec. 22, 2020; Act No. 18566, Nov. 30, 2021> 1. Sidewalks on roads where sidewalks and roadways are separated, such as intersections, crosswalks, railway crossings, or sidewalks (excluding on-street parking spaces installed across roadways and sidewalks according to the 「Parking Lot Act」). 2. Places within 5 meters from the edge of an intersection or a road corner. 3. Places within 10 meters from all sides of safety zones on roads where safety zones are installed. 4. Places within 10 meters from pillars, signs, or lines indicating a bus passenger vehicle stop (停留地). However, this shall not apply when a bus passenger vehicle driver stops or parks their vehicle at a bus stop along the route to pick up or drop off passengers during the operation hours of the bus passenger vehicle. 5. Places within 10 meters from the edge of a railway crossing or a crosswalk. 6. Places within 5 meters from the places listed in the following sub-items: a. Places where fire water facilities or emergency fire fighting equipment are installed, as referred to in Article 10 of the 「Firefighting Basic Act」. b. Places where facilities, as referred to in subparagraph 1 of Article 2(1) of the 「Act on the Installation and Management of Firefighting Facilities」, which are designated by Presidential Decree, are installed. 7. Places designated by the Chief of the Provincial Police Agency as necessary to prevent danger and ensure traffic safety and smooth flow of traffic on the road. 8. Child protection zones designated by the Mayor, etc. pursuant to Article 12(1).
