제83조 운전면허시험 등

운전면허시험(제1종 보통면허시험 및 제2종 보통면허시험은 제외한다)은 한국도로교통공단이 다음 각 호의 사항에 대하여 제80조제2항에 따른 운전면허의 구분에 따라 실시한다. 다만, 대통령령으로 정하는 운전면허시험은 대통령령으로 정하는 바에 따라 시ㆍ도경찰청장이나 한국도로교통공단이 실시한다. <개정 2020.6.9, 2020.12.22, 2021.1.12, 2024.1.30>

The driver's license examination (excluding the Class 1 Ordinary License Examination and the Class 2 Ordinary License Examination) shall be conducted by the Korea Road Traffic Authority with respect to the following matters, according to the classification of driver's licenses under Article 80 (2). However, driver's license examinations prescribed by Presidential Decree shall be conducted by the Provincial Police Agency Commissioner or the Korea Road Traffic Authority, as prescribed by Presidential Decree. <Amended by Act No. 17324, Jun. 9, 2020, Act No. 17773, Dec. 22, 2020, Act No. 17941, Jan. 12, 2021, Act No. 19177, Jan. 30, 2024> 1. Knowledge and skills necessary for eco-friendly economic driving
제1종 보통면허시험과 제2종 보통면허시험은 한국도로교통공단이 응시자가 도로에서 자동차를 운전할 능력이 있는지에 대하여 실시한다. 이 경우 제1종 보통면허시험은 제1종 보통연습면허를 받은 사람을 대상으로 하고, 제2종 보통면허시험은 제2종 보통연습면허를 받은 사람을 대상으로 한다. <개정 2024.1.30>
The Class 1 Ordinary License Examination and the Class 2 Ordinary License Examination shall be conducted by the Korea Road Traffic Authority on whether applicants have the ability to drive motor vehicles on the road. In this case, the Class 1 Ordinary License Examination shall be for persons who have received a Class 1 Ordinary Practice License, and the Class 2 Ordinary License Examination shall be for persons who have received a Class 2 Ordinary Practice License. <Amended by Act No. 19177, Jan. 30, 2024>
제82조에 따라 운전면허를 받을 수 없는 사람은 운전면허시험에 응시할 수 없다.
A person who is ineligible to receive a driver's license under Article 82 may not apply for a driver's license examination.
제1항제2호 및 제3호에 따른 운전면허시험에 응시하려는 사람은 그 운전면허시험에 응시하기 전에 제73조제1항에 따른 교통안전교육 또는 제104조제1항에 따른 자동차운전 전문학원에서 학과교육을 받아야 한다.
A person who intends to apply for a driver's license examination under Article 83 (1) 2 and 3 shall receive traffic safety education under Article 73 (1) or academic education at a driving academy under Article 104 (1) before applying for the driver's license examination.
제1항과 제2항에 따른 운전면허시험의 방법, 절차와 그 밖에 필요한 사항은 대통령령으로 정한다.
The method, procedures, and other necessary matters for the driver's license examinations under Article 83 (1) and (2) shall be prescribed by Presidential Decree.
