제98조의2(국제운전면허증 발급의 제한) 시ㆍ도경찰청장은 제98조에 따라 국제운전면허증을 발급받으려는 사람이 납부하지 아니한 범칙금 또는 과태료(이 법을 위반하여 부과된 범칙금 또는 과태료를 말한다. 이하 이 조에서 같다)가 있는 경우 국제운전면허증의 발급을 거부할 수 있다. 다만, 제164조제1항ㆍ제2항에 따른 범칙금 납부기간 또는 제160조에 따른 과태료로서 대통령령으로 정하는 납부기간 중에 있는 경우에는 그러하지 아니하다. <개정 2020.12.22>

① The Commissioner of a Metropolitan Police Agency may refuse to issue an international driving permit to a person who intends to obtain an international driving permit under Article 98 if there are unpaid penalty surcharges or administrative fines (referring to penalty surcharges or administrative fines imposed for violating this Act. The same applies hereinafter in this Article). However, this shall not apply if the person is within the period for paying penalty surcharges under Article 164 (1) and (2) or the period for paying administrative fines as prescribed by Presidential Decree under Article 160. <Amended by Act No. 17760, Dec. 22, 2020>
