Article 116 (Exemption from Stamp Tax)

A certificate of loan for consumption related to borrowing funds, prepared by a member (including a regular member or a community member) of a mutual credit cooperative established under the Mutual Credit Cooperative Act, a Saemaul Undong Bank established under the Saemaul Undong Bank Act, a cooperative established under the Agricultural Cooperative Act, a cooperative established under the Fisheries Cooperative Act, and a fishing community, a leaf tobacco production cooperative established under the Leaf Tobacco Production Cooperative Act, and a forest cooperative established under the Forestry Cooperative Act, in order to receive a loan from the respective cooperative (including fishing communities) or its central cooperative (including NongHyup Bank under the Agricultural Cooperative Act and Suhyup Bank under the Fisheries Cooperative Act). Provided, That this shall not apply if the total amount of loans received by the same person exceeds 100 million won. 6. Deposit and savings certificates and passbooks for members (including community members of fishing communities under the Fisheries Cooperative Act) prepared by a credit union established under the Mutual Credit Cooperatives Act, a Saemaul Undong Bank established under the Saemaul Undong Bank Act, a cooperative established under the Agricultural Cooperatives Act, a cooperative established under the Fisheries Cooperatives Act and fishing communities, a leaf tobacco production cooperative established under the Leaf Tobacco Production Cooperatives Act, and a forest cooperative established under the Forestry Cooperatives Act, as well as children's savings passbooks. 7. Certificates and documents proving the establishment, transfer, modification, or extinction of property rights arising from rural development projects implemented under the Act on Rural Development and Rural Land Improvement, the sale, lease, exchange, separation, or merger of agricultural land implemented under Article 10 (1) of the Korea Rural Community Corporation and Farmland Management Fund Act, rural settlement area projects implemented under the Special Act on Rural Development, and projects for expanding the scale of agricultural management and fishery management, such as the purchase and lease of agricultural land supported under Article 5 of the Special Act on Support for Farmers and Fishermen in Accordance with the Conclusion of Free Trade Agreements. 8.
