법 제31조에 따라 외국인등록을 하려는 사람은 외국인등록 신청서에 여권과 그 밖에 법무부령으로 정하는 서류를 첨부하여 체류지 관할 청장ㆍ사무소장 또는 출장소장에게 제출하여야 한다. <개정 2018.5.8>
A person who intends to register as an alien pursuant to Article 31 of the Act shall submit an application for alien registration, along with their passport and any other documents prescribed by the Ordinance of the Ministry of Justice, to the head of the immigration office, branch office, or satellite office having jurisdiction over their place of sojourn. <Amended by Act No. 13537, May 8, 2018>
체류지 관할 청장ㆍ사무소장 또는 출장소장은 제1항에 따라 외국인등록을 마친 사람에게 외국인등록번호를 부여하고 등록외국인대장에 적어야 한다. <개정 2018.5.8>
The head of the immigration office, branch office, or satellite office having jurisdiction over the place of sojourn shall assign an alien registration number to a person who has completed alien registration pursuant to paragraph ① and record it in the Register of Registered Aliens. <Amended by Act No. 13537, May 8, 2018>
