Article 17 (Stay of Foreign Nationals and Scope of Their Activities)
제17조 외국인의 체류 및 활동범위

외국인은 그 체류자격과 체류기간의 범위에서 대한민국에 체류할 수 있다.
A foreign national may stay in the Republic of Korea within the scope of their status of stay and period of stay.
대한민국에 체류하는 외국인은 이 법 또는 다른 법률에서 정하는 경우를 제외하고는 정치활동을 하여서는 아니 된다.
A foreign national staying in the Republic of Korea shall not engage in political activities, except as provided in this Act or other statutes.
법무부장관은 대한민국에 체류하는 외국인이 정치활동을 하였을 때에는 그 외국인에게 서면으로 그 활동의 중지명령이나 그 밖에 필요한 명령을 할 수 있다.
Where a foreign national staying in the Republic of Korea has engaged in political activities, the Minister of Justice may issue to that foreign national, in writing, an order to cease such activities or any other necessary order.
