제1조(목적) 이 법은 노동관계에 관한 판정 및 조정(調整) 업무를 신속ㆍ공정하게 수행하기 위하여 노동위원회를 설치하고 그 운영에 관한 사항을 규정함으로써 노동관계의 안정과 발전에 이바지함을 목적으로 한다.

① This Act aims to contribute to the stability and development of labor relations by establishing labor relations commissions and prescribing matters concerning their operation for the purpose of promptly and fairly performing adjudication and conciliation (adjustment) tasks concerning labor relations.
