①
이 법은 근로자를 사용하는 모든 사업 또는 사업장(이하 "사업"이라 한다)에 적용한다. 다만, 동거하는 친족만을 사용하는 사업과 가사(家事) 사용인에게는 적용하지 아니한다.
This Act shall apply to all businesses or workplaces (hereinafter referred to as "businesses") that employ workers. However, it shall not apply to businesses that only employ cohabiting relatives and to domestic workers.

이 법은 「선원법」의 적용을 받는 선원과 선원을 사용하는 선박의 소유자에게는 적용하지 아니한다.
This Act shall not apply to seamen to whom the "Seamen Act" applies and to shipowners who employ seamen.
