보호위원회는 상임위원 2명(위원장 1명, 부위원장 1명)을 포함한 9명의 위원으로 구성한다.
The Protection Committee shall be composed of nine members, including two standing members (one Chairperson and one Vice Chairperson).
보호위원회의 위원은 개인정보 보호에 관한 경력과 전문지식이 풍부한 다음 각 호의 사람 중에서 위원장과 부위원장은 국무총리의 제청으로, 그 외 위원 중 2명은 위원장의 제청으로, 2명은 대통령이 소속되거나 소속되었던 정당의 교섭단체 추천으로, 3명은 그 외의 교섭단체 추천으로 대통령이 임명 또는 위촉한다.
1. 개인정보 보호 업무를 담당하는 3급 이상 공무원(고위공무원단에 속하는 공무원을 포함한다)의 직에 있거나 있었던 사람
2. 판사ㆍ검사ㆍ변호사의 직에 10년 이상 있거나 있었던 사람
3. 공공기관 또는 단체(개인정보처리자로 구성된 단체를 포함한다)에 3년 이상 임원으로 재직하였거나 이들 기관 또는 단체로부터 추천받은 사람으로서 개인정보 보호 업무를 3년 이상 담당하였던 사람
4. 개인정보 관련 분야에 전문지식이 있고 「고등교육법」 제2조제1호에 따른 학교에서 부교수 이상으로 5년 이상 재직하고 있거나 재직하였던 사람
The members of the Protection Committee shall be selected from among the following persons who have abundant experience and expertise in personal information protection: the Chairperson and Vice Chairperson shall be appointed or commissioned by the President upon the recommendation of the Prime Minister; two of the remaining members shall be appointed or commissioned by the President upon the recommendation of the Chairperson; two members shall be appointed or commissioned by the President upon the recommendation of the parliamentary group to which the President belongs or belonged; and three members shall be appointed or commissioned by the President upon the recommendation of other parliamentary groups. 1. Persons who are or have been in the position of public officials of Grade 3 or higher (including public officials belonging to the senior civil service) in charge of personal information protection tasks. 2. Persons who are or have been judges, prosecutors, or lawyers for 10 years or more. 3. Persons who have served as executives for 3 years or more in public institutions or organizations (including organizations composed of personal information processors), or who have been recommended by such institutions or organizations and have been in charge of personal information protection tasks for 3 years or more. 4. Persons who have expertise in fields related to personal information and are or have been employed for 5 years or more as an associate professor or higher at schools specified in Article 2, Clause 1 of the 「Higher Education Act」.
위원장과 부위원장은 정무직 공무원으로 임명한다.
The Chairperson and Vice Chairperson shall be appointed as political appointees.
위원장, 부위원장, 제7조의13에 따른 사무처의 장은 「정부조직법」 제10조에도 불구하고 정부위원이 된다.
Notwithstanding Article 10 of the 「Government Organization Act」, the Chairperson, the Vice Chairperson, and the head of the Secretariat under Article 7-13 shall be government members.
