질병관리청장은 보건복지부장관과 협의하여 국민의 건강상태ㆍ식품섭취ㆍ식생활조사등 국민의 건강과 영양에 관한 조사(이하 "국민건강영양조사"라 한다)를 정기적으로 실시한다. <개정 1997.12.13, 2008.2.29, 2010.1.18, 2020.8.11, 2023.3.28>
The Commissioner of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency shall, in consultation with the Minister of Health and Welfare, regularly conduct surveys on the health and nutrition of the people, including surveys on the health status, food consumption, and dietary habits of the people (hereinafter referred to as the "National Health and Nutrition Survey"). <Amended by Act No. 5497, Dec. 13, 1997; Act No. 8852, Feb. 29, 2008; Act No. 9931, Jan. 18, 2010; Act No. 17376, Aug. 11, 2020; Act No. 19275, Mar. 28, 2023>
특별시ㆍ광역시 및 도에는 국민건강영양조사와 영양에 관한 지도업무를 행하게 하기 위한 공무원을 두어야 한다. <개정 2023.3.28>
Special cities, metropolitan cities, and provinces shall have public officials to conduct the National Health and Nutrition Survey and guidance work concerning nutrition. <Amended by Act No. 19275, Mar. 28, 2023>
국민건강영양조사를 행하는 공무원은 그 권한을 나타내는 증표를 관계인에게 내보여야 한다. <개정 2023.3.28>

국민건강영양조사의 내용 및 방법, 그 밖에 국민건강영양조사와 영양에 관한 지도에 관하여 필요한 사항은 대통령령으로 정한다. <개정 2023.3.28>
