제8조 금연 및 절주운동등

국가 및 지방자치단체는 국민에게 담배의 직접흡연 또는 간접흡연과 과다한 음주가 국민건강에 해롭다는 것을 교육ㆍ홍보하여야 한다. <개정 2006.9.27>
The State and local governments shall educate and publicize to the citizens that direct or indirect smoking of tobacco and excessive drinking are harmful to national health. <Amended on Sep. 27, 2006>
국가 및 지방자치단체는 금연 및 절주에 관한 조사ㆍ연구를 하는 법인 또는 단체를 지원할 수 있다.
The State and local governments may support corporations or organizations conducting research and development on smoking cessation and moderate drinking.

「주류 면허 등에 관한 법률」에 의하여 주류제조의 면허를 받은 자 또는 주류를 수입하여 판매하는 자는 대통령령이 정하는 주류의 판매용 용기에 과다한 음주는 건강에 해롭다는 내용, 음주운전은 자신과 다른 사람의 생명을 위태롭게 할 수 있다는 내용과 임신 중 음주는 태아의 건강을 해칠 수 있다는 내용의 경고문구 또는 경고그림을 표기하여야 한다. <개정 2016.3.2, 2020.12.29, 2025.3.18>
A person licensed to manufacture alcoholic beverages under the 「Act on Licenses for Alcohol Manufacturing, etc.」, or a person who imports and sells alcoholic beverages, shall mark warning statements or warning illustrations on containers for sale of alcoholic beverages, as prescribed by Presidential Decree, stating that excessive drinking is harmful to health, that drunk driving can endanger one's own life and the lives of others, and that drinking during pregnancy can harm the health of the fetus. <Amended on Mar. 2, 2016, Dec. 29, 2020, Mar. 18, 2025>
