제6조 여권 등의 보관ㆍ통지

출입국관리공무원은 법 제5조에 따라 여권 또는 선원신분증명서를 보관할 때에는 여권 또는 선원신분증명서의 소지인에게 그 사유를 알리고, 그 사실을 발급기관의 장에게 알릴 수 있다. <개정 2015.6.15, 2016.9.29>
An immigration control official, when taking custody of a passport or seafarer's identification document pursuant to Article 5 of the Act, shall inform the holder of the passport or seafarer's identification document of the reason and may notify the head of the issuing agency of the fact. <Amended by Presidential Decree No. 26251, Jun. 15, 2015, Presidential Decree No. 27495, Sep. 29, 2016>
출입국ㆍ외국인청의 장(이하 "청장"이라 한다), 출입국ㆍ외국인사무소의 장(이하 "사무소장"이라 한다), 출입국ㆍ외국인청 출장소의 장 또는 출입국ㆍ외국인사무소 출장소의 장(이하 "출장소장"이라 한다)은 다음 각 호의 어느 하나에 해당할 때에는 법 제5조에 따라 보관 중인 여권 또는 선원신분증명서를 요청기관 또는 발급기관의 장에게 보낼 수 있다. <개정 2015.6.15, 2016.9.29, 2018.5.8>
1. 수사기관의 장이 수사상 필요하여 송부를 요청한 경우
2. 발급기관의 장이 요청한 경우
The head of the Immigration Service (hereinafter referred to as the "Commissioner"), the head of an Immigration Office (hereinafter referred to as the "Office Director"), the head of an Immigration Service branch office, or the head of an Immigration Office branch office (hereinafter referred to as the "Branch Office Director") may send a passport or seafarer's identification document taken into custody pursuant to Article 5 of the Act to the head of the requesting agency or the issuing agency in any of the following cases. <Amended by Presidential Decree No. 26251, Jun. 15, 2015, Presidential Decree No. 27495, Sep. 29, 2016, Presidential Decree No. 28345, May 8, 2018> 1.
