Article 32 (Permission to Extend Stay for Departure)
제32조 출국을 위한 체류기간 연장허가

청장ㆍ사무소장 또는 출장소장은 허가된 체류기간이 만료되는 자가 다음 각 호의 어느 하나에 해당하는 경우에는 그 체류기간을 연장할 수 있다. 다만, 체류연장기간이 30일을 초과하는 때에는 법무부장관의 승인을 얻어야 한다. <개정 2002.4.27, 2016.9.29, 2018.5.15>
1. 외국인등록을 한 자로서 그 체류자격의 활동을 마치고 국내여행 등을 목적으로 일시 체류하고자 하는 경우
2. 출국할 선박등이 없거나 그밖에 부득이한 사유로 출국할 수 없는 경우
The Commissioner General, the head of an office, or the head of a branch office may extend the permitted period of stay for a person whose permitted period of stay is expiring, if such person falls under any of the following subparagraphs. However, if the extended period of stay exceeds 30 days, the approval of the Minister of Justice shall be obtained. <Amended by Act No. 7511, Apr. 27, 2002; Act No. 14352, Sep. 29, 2016; Act No. 15544, May 15, 2018> 1. A person who has registered as an alien and has completed the activities of their status of stay, and intends to stay temporarily for purposes such as domestic travel. 2. A person who is unable to depart due to the absence of a vessel, etc. for departure, or for other unavoidable reasons.
제1항에 따라 체류기간연장허가를 받고자 하는 자는 체류기간연장허가신청서에 그 사유를 소명하는 자료를 첨부하여 청장ㆍ사무소장 또는 출장소장에게 제출하여야 한다. <개정 2018.5.15>
A person who intends to obtain permission to extend their period of stay pursuant to paragraph ① shall submit an application for permission to extend the period of stay, along with documents proving the reason thereof, to the Commissioner General, the head of an office, or the head of a branch office. <Amended by Act No. 15544, May 15, 2018>
제1항의 규정에 의하여 체류기간연장을 허가하는 때에는 수수료를 받지 아니한다. <신설 1994.7.20>
