①
위원장은 외국인보호위원회를 대표하고, 업무를 총괄한다.
The Chairperson shall represent the Foreigners Protection Committee and oversee its affairs.

위원장이 부득이한 사정으로 직무를 수행할 수 없으면 임명일이 빠른 상임위원 순서로 그 직무를 대행하며, 상임위원의 임명일이 같은 경우에는 연장자 순서로 그 직무를 대행한다.
If the Chairperson is unable to perform his or her duties due to unavoidable circumstances, a standing member whose appointment date is earlier shall act in his or her stead, and if the appointment dates of the standing members are the same, the older member shall act in his or her stead.
