기금은 다음 각 호의 용도에 사용한다. <개정 2008.12.31, 2010.1.27, 2019.1.15>

1. 보험급여의 지급 및 반환금의 반환
2. 차입금 및 이자의 상환
3. 공단에의 출연
4.「산업안전보건법」 제12조에 따른 용도
5. 재해근로자의 복지 증진
6. 「한국산업안전보건공단법」에 따른 한국산업안전보건공단(이하 "한국산업안전보건공단"이라 한다)에 대한 출연
7. 보험료징수법 제4조에 따른 업무를 위탁받은 자에의 출연
8. 그 밖에 보험사업 및 기금의 관리와 운용

The fund shall be used for the following purposes. <Amended by Dec. 31, 2008, Jan. 27, 2010, Jan. 15, 2019> 1. Payment of insurance benefits and refund of amounts to be refunded. 2. Repayment of borrowed money and interest. 3. Contributions to the Corporation. 4. Purposes pursuant to Article 12 of the 「Occupational Safety and Health Act」. 5. Promotion of welfare for disaster workers. 6. Contributions to the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (hereinafter referred to as the "Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency") pursuant to the 「Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency Act」. 7. Contributions to a person entrusted with duties pursuant to Article 4 of the Insurance Premium Collection Act. 8. Other insurance business and management and operation of the fund.

고용노동부장관은 회계연도마다 제1항 각 호에 해당하는 기금지출예산 총액의 100분의 8 이상을 제1항제4호 및 제6호에 따른 용도로 계상하여야 한다. <개정 2010.6.4>

제1항제7호에 따라 기금으로부터 「국민건강보험법」 제13조에 따른 국민건강보험공단에 출연하는 금액은 징수업무(고지ㆍ수납ㆍ체납 업무를 말한다)가 차지하는 비율 등을 기준으로 산정한다. <신설 2018.6.12>
