시ㆍ도경찰청장은 차마의 교통을 원활하게 하기 위하여 필요한 경우에는 도로에 행정안전부령으로 정하는 차로를 설치할 수 있다. 이 경우 시ㆍ도경찰청장은 시간대에 따라 양방향의 통행량이 뚜렷하게 다른 도로에는 교통량이 많은 쪽으로 차로의 수가 확대될 수 있도록 신호기에 의하여 차로의 진행방향을 지시하는 가변차로를 설치할 수 있다. <개정 2013.3.23, 2014.11.19, 2017.7.26, 2020.12.22>
The Chief of the Metropolitan Police Agency may install lanes on roads, as prescribed by ordinance of the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, if deemed necessary for smooth traffic flow of vehicles. In this case, if the traffic volume in both directions of a road significantly differs depending on the time of day, the Chief of the Metropolitan Police Agency may install reversible lanes that direct the travel direction of lanes by traffic signals, so that the number of lanes can be expanded towards the direction with heavier traffic. <Amended by Act No. 12443, Mar. 23, 2013; Act No. 12843, Nov. 19, 2014; Act No. 14851, Jul. 26, 2017; Act No. 17704, Dec. 22, 2020>
차마의 운전자는 차로가 설치되어 있는 도로에서는 이 법이나 이 법에 따른 명령에 특별한 규정이 있는 경우를 제외하고는 그 차로를 따라 통행하여야 한다. 다만, 시ㆍ도경찰청장이 통행방법을 따로 지정한 경우에는 그 방법으로 통행하여야 한다. <개정 2020.12.22>
Drivers of vehicles shall, on roads where lanes are installed, travel along those lanes, unless there are special provisions to the contrary in this Act or in orders pursuant to this Act. However, if the Chief of the Metropolitan Police Agency has designated a different method of passage, they shall travel by that method. <Amended by Act No. 17704, Dec. 22, 2020>
차로가 설치된 도로를 통행하려는 경우로서 차의 너비가 행정안전부령으로 정하는 차로의 너비보다 넓어 교통의 안전이나 원활한 소통에 지장을 줄 우려가 있는 경우 그 차의 운전자는 도로를 통행하여서는 아니 된다. 다만, 행정안전부령으로 정하는 바에 따라 그 차의 출발지를 관할하는 경찰서장의 허가를 받은 경우에는 그러하지 아니하다. <개정 2013.3.23, 2014.11.19, 2017.7.26>
When intending to travel on a road where lanes are installed, if the width of a vehicle is wider than the width of lanes prescribed by ordinance of the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, and it is likely to impede traffic safety or smooth flow, the driver of such vehicle shall not travel on the road. However, this shall not apply if permission has been obtained from the head of the police station having jurisdiction over the place of departure of the vehicle, as prescribed by ordinance of the Ministry of Public Administration and Security. <Amended by Act No. 12443, Mar. 23, 2013; Act No. 12843, Nov. 19, 2014; Act No. 14851, Jul. 26, 2017>
경찰서장은 제3항 단서에 따른 허가를 받으려는 차가 「도로법」 제77조제1항 단서에 따른 운행허가를 받아야 하는 차에 해당하는 경우에는 대통령령으로 정하는 바에 따라 그 차가 통행하려는 도로의 관리청과 미리 협의하여야 하며, 이러한 협의를 거쳐 경찰서장의 허가를 받은 차는 「도로법」 제77조제1항 단서에 따른 운행허가를 받은 것으로 본다. <신설 2014.12.30>
If a vehicle intending to obtain permission under the proviso to paragraph (3) is a vehicle that requires a movement permit under the proviso to Article 77 (1) of the 「Road Act」, the head of the police station shall, in advance, consult with the road management authority of the road that the vehicle intends to travel on, as prescribed by Presidential Decree. A vehicle that has obtained permission from the head of the police station after such consultation shall be deemed to have obtained the movement permit under the proviso to Article 77 (1) of the 「Road Act」. <Newly Inserted by Act No. 12844, Dec. 30, 2014>
차마의 운전자는 안전표지가 설치되어 특별히 진로 변경이 금지된 곳에서는 차마의 진로를 변경하여서는 아니 된다. 다만, 도로의 파손이나 도로공사 등으로 인하여 장애물이 있는 경우에는 그러하지 아니하다. <개정 2014.12.30>
Drivers of vehicles shall not change lanes in places where safety signs prohibit lane changes, except where there are obstructions due to road damage, road construction, or the like. <Amended by Act No. 12844, Dec. 30, 2014>
