경찰청장은 지역별 교통안전수준을 객관적으로 측정하기 위하여 교통사고 건수와 사상자 수 등을 기초로 산정한 교통안전지표(이하 "교통안전지표"라 한다)를 개발ㆍ조사ㆍ작성하고 그 결과를 공표할 수 있다.
The Commissioner General of the National Police Agency may develop, investigate, and compile traffic safety indicators (hereinafter referred to as "traffic safety indicators"), calculated based on the number of traffic accidents, the number of fatalities and injuries, etc., in order to objectively measure the regional traffic safety level, and may publicly announce the results.
지방자치단체의 장은 제1항에 따라 공표된 결과를 교통정책을 수립하는 데 반영할 수 있다.
The head of a local government may reflect the results publicly announced under paragraph ① in the establishment of traffic policy.
교통안전지표의 조사항목 및 조사방법 등에 관하여 필요한 사항은 대통령령으로 정한다.
Matters necessary for the investigation items and investigation methods of traffic safety indicators shall be prescribed by Presidential Decree.
