제15조 전용차로의 설치

시장등은 원활한 교통을 확보하기 위하여 특히 필요한 경우에는 시ㆍ도경찰청장이나 경찰서장과 협의하여 도로에 전용차로(차의 종류나 승차 인원에 따라 지정된 차만 통행할 수 있는 차로를 말한다. 이하 같다)를 설치할 수 있다. <개정 2020.12.22>
The mayor, etc., may, in consultation with the head of the provincial/metropolitan police agency or the head of the police station, install exclusive lanes on roads (referring to lanes where only designated vehicles may travel according to the type of vehicle or the number of passengers, hereinafter referred to as the same) when particularly necessary to ensure smooth traffic. <Amended by Act No. 17799, Dec. 22, 2020>
전용차로의 종류, 전용차로로 통행할 수 있는 차와 그 밖에 전용차로의 운영에 필요한 사항은 대통령령으로 정한다.
The types of exclusive lanes, vehicles that may travel in exclusive lanes, and other matters necessary for the operation of exclusive lanes shall be determined by Presidential Decree.
제2항에 따라 전용차로로 통행할 수 있는 차가 아니면 전용차로로 통행하여서는 아니 된다. 다만, 긴급자동차가 그 본래의 긴급한 용도로 운행되고 있는 경우 등 대통령령으로 정하는 경우에는 그러하지 아니하다.
Vehicles that are not allowed to travel in exclusive lanes pursuant to Paragraph ② shall not travel in exclusive lanes. Provided, however, that this shall not apply in cases where an emergency vehicle is operating for its original urgent purpose or in other cases determined by Presidential Decree.
