Article 29 (Priority Passage of Emergency Vehicles)
제29조 긴급자동차의 우선 통행

긴급자동차는 제13조제3항에도 불구하고 긴급하고 부득이한 경우에는 도로의 중앙이나 좌측 부분을 통행할 수 있다.
Notwithstanding Article 13(3), an emergency vehicle may pass on the center or left portion of the road if it is urgent and unavoidable.
긴급자동차는 이 법이나 이 법에 따른 명령에 따라 정지하여야 하는 경우에도 불구하고 긴급하고 부득이한 경우에는 정지하지 아니할 수 있다.
Notwithstanding the requirement to stop under this Act or orders pursuant to this Act, an emergency vehicle may refrain from stopping if it is urgent and unavoidable.
긴급자동차의 운전자는 제1항이나 제2항의 경우에 교통안전에 특히 주의하면서 통행하여야 한다.
The driver of an emergency vehicle shall exercise special caution for traffic safety when passing under paragraph ① or ②.
교차로나 그 부근에서 긴급자동차가 접근하는 경우에는 차마와 노면전차의 운전자는 교차로를 피하여 일시정지하여야 한다. <개정 2018.3.27>

제2조제22호 각 목의 자동차 운전자는 해당 자동차를 그 본래의 긴급한 용도로 운행하지 아니하는 경우에는 「자동차관리법」에 따라 설치된 경광등을 켜거나 사이렌을 작동하여서는 아니 된다. 다만, 대통령령으로 정하는 바에 따라 범죄 및 화재 예방 등을 위한 순찰ㆍ훈련 등을 실시하는 경우에는 그러하지 아니하다. <신설 2016.1.27>
Drivers of vehicles as specified in each subparagraph of Article 2(22) shall not turn on the warning lights installed under the 「Automotive Management Act」 or operate a siren when the vehicle is not being operated for its original emergency purpose.
