제53조 어린이통학버스 운전자 및 운영자 등의 의무

어린이통학버스를 운전하는 사람은 어린이나 영유아가 타고 내리는 경우에만 제51조제1항에 따른 점멸등 등의 장치를 작동하여야 하며, 어린이나 영유아를 태우고 운행 중인 경우에만 제51조제3항에 따른 표시를 하여야 한다. <개정 2014.12.30>
A person driving a child school bus shall operate the flashing lights and other devices as prescribed in Article 51 (1) only when children or infants are boarding or alighting, and shall display the mark as prescribed in Article 51 (3) only when operating with children or infants on board. <Amended by Act No. 12931, Dec. 30, 2014>
어린이통학버스를 운전하는 사람은 어린이나 영유아가 어린이통학버스를 탈 때에는 승차한 모든 어린이나 영유아가 좌석안전띠(어린이나 영유아의 신체구조에 따라 적합하게 조절될 수 있는 안전띠를 말한다. 이하 이 조 및 제156조제1호, 제160조제2항제4호의2에서 같다)를 매도록 한 후에 출발하여야 하며, 내릴 때에는 보도나 길가장자리구역 등 자동차로부터 안전한 장소에 도착한 것을 확인한 후에 출발하여야 한다. 다만, 좌석안전띠 착용과 관련하여 질병 등으로 인하여 좌석안전띠를 매는 것이 곤란하거나 행정안전부령으로 정하는 사유가 있는 경우에는 그러하지 아니하다. <개정 2014.1.28, 2014.11.19, 2014.12.30, 2017.7.26, 2018.3.27>
A person driving a child school bus shall depart only after ensuring that all children or infants on board have fastened their seat safety belts (meaning safety belts that can be appropriately adjusted according to the physical structure of children or infants; hereinafter the same applies in this Article and Article 156 (1) and Article 160 (2) 4. 2), and shall depart only after confirming that children or infants have arrived at a safe place away from the vehicle, such as a sidewalk or the edge of the road, when alighting. 어린이통학버스를 운영하는 자는 어린이통학버스에 어린이나 영유아를 태울 때에는 성년인 사람 중 어린이통학버스를 운영하는 자가 지명한 보호자를 함께 태우고 운행하여야 하며, 동승한 보호자는 어린이나 영유아가 승차 또는 하차하는 때에는 자동차에서 내려서 어린이나 영유아가 안전하게 승하차하는 것을 확인하고 운행 중에는 어린이나 영유아가 좌석에 앉아 좌석안전띠를 매고 있도록 하는 등 어린이 보호에 필요한 조치를 하여야 한다. <개정 2014.1.28, 2014.12.30, 2020.5.26>

A person operating a child school bus shall operate the bus with a guardian, who is an adult and designated by the operator of the child school bus, on board when children or infants are being transported.
