「대한민국 정부와 국제이주기구 간의 국제이주기구 이민정책연구원 설립 및 운영에 관한 협정」의 이행을 장려하고, 전문적이고 체계적인 이민정책의 수립 등에 필요한 조사ㆍ연구를 추진하기 위하여 이민정책연구원(이하 "연구원"이라 한다)을 설립한다.
An Immigration Policy Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as the "Institute") shall be established to promote the implementation of the "Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Korea and the International Organization for Migration on the Establishment and Operation of the International Organization for Migration Immigration Policy Research Institute" and to carry out investigations and research necessary for the establishment, etc. of professional and systematic immigration policies.
연구원은 법인으로 한다.
The Institute shall be a corporation.
연구원은 다음 각 호의 사업을 수행한다.
1. 세계 각국의 이민정책과 입법에 관한 조사ㆍ연구ㆍ자문ㆍ정보교환
2. 이민정책 전문가 양성
3. 이민정책 관련 국제교류ㆍ협력 및 국제회의 개최ㆍ지원
4. 이민정책 관련 학회 및 학술활동 지원
5. 이민정책 관련 학술자료ㆍ정기간행물ㆍ보고서 등 출판물의 발간ㆍ보급
6. 그 밖에 연구원의 설립 목적을 달성하는 데 필요한 사업
The Institute shall carry out the following business: 1. Investigation, research, consultation, and information exchange regarding immigration policies and legislation in various countries around the world 2. Training of immigration policy experts 3. International exchange and cooperation related to immigration policies and hosting/supporting international conferences 4. Support for academic societies and academic activities related to immigration policies 5. Publication and dissemination of publications such as academic materials, periodicals, and reports related to immigration policies 6. Other businesses necessary to achieve the purpose of establishing the Institute
연구원은 정관으로 정하는 바에 따라 임원과 필요한 직원을 둔다.
The Institute shall have executives and necessary staff in accordance with its articles of incorporation.
연구원에 관하여 이 법에서 정한 것 외에는 「민법」 중 재단법인에 관한 규정을 준용한다.
With regard to the Institute, the provisions concerning incorporated foundations in the Civil Act shall apply mutatis mutandis, except as otherwise provided in this Act.
국가는 예산의 범위에서 연구원의 운영에 필요한 경비를 지원할 수 있다.
The State may, within the scope of the budget, support expenses necessary for the operation of the Institute.
