외국인근로자의 고용관리 및 보호에 관한 주요 사항을 심의ㆍ의결하기 위하여 국무총리 소속으로 외국인력정책위원회(이하 "정책위원회"라 한다)를 둔다.

In order to deliberate and decide on major matters concerning the employment management and protection of foreign workers, a Foreign Workforce Policy Committee (hereinafter referred to as the "Policy Committee") shall be established under the Prime Minister.

정책위원회는 다음 각 호의 사항을 심의ㆍ의결한다. <개정 2021.4.13>

1. 외국인근로자 관련 기본계획의 수립에 관한 사항
2. 외국인근로자 도입 업종 및 규모 등에 관한 사항
3. 외국인근로자를 송출할 수 있는 국가(이하 "송출국가"라 한다)의 지정 및 지정취소에 관한 사항
4. 제18조의2제2항에 따른 외국인근로자의 취업활동 기간 연장에 관한 사항
5. 그 밖에 대통령령으로 정하는 사항

The Policy Committee shall deliberate and decide on the following matters. <Amended on April 13, 2021> 1. Matters concerning the establishment of a basic plan related to foreign workers 2. Matters concerning the types of industries and scale of foreign worker introduction 3. Matters concerning the designation and revocation of designation of countries that can send foreign workers (hereinafter referred to as "sending countries") 4. Matters concerning the extension of the period of employment activities of foreign workers under Article 18(2) paragraph 2 5. Other matters prescribed by Presidential Decree

정책위원회는 위원장 1명을 포함한 20명 이내의 위원으로 구성한다.

The Policy Committee shall be composed of up to 20 members, including one Chairperson.

정책위원회의 위원장은 국무조정실장이 되고, 위원은 재정경제부ㆍ외교부ㆍ법무부ㆍ산업통상부ㆍ고용노동부ㆍ중소벤처기업부의 차관 및 대통령령으로 정하는 관계 중앙행정기관의 차관이 된다. <개정 2010.6.4, 2013.3.23, 2017.7.26, 2025.10.1>

The Chairperson of the Policy Committee shall be the Minister of the Office for Government Policy Coordination, and the members shall be the Vice Ministers of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and the Vice Ministers of the relevant central administrative agencies as prescribed by Presidential Decree. <Amended on June 4, 2010, March 23, 2013, July 26, 2017, October 1, 2025>

외국인근로자 고용제도의 운영 및 외국인근로자의 권익보호 등에 관한 사항을 사전에 심의하게 하기 위하여 정책위원회에 외국인력정책실무위원회(이하 "실무위원회"라 한다)를 둔다.

In order to pre-deliberate on matters concerning the operation of the foreign worker employment system and the protection of the rights and interests of foreign workers, a Foreign Workforce Policy Working Committee (hereinafter referred to as the "Working Committee") shall be established within the Policy Committee.

정책위원회와 실무위원회의 구성ㆍ기능 및 운영 등에 필요한 사항은 대통령령으로 정한다.

Matters necessary for the composition, functions, and operation of the Policy Committee and the Working Committee shall be prescribed by Presidential Decree.
