외국인근로자의 고용관리 및 보호에 관한 주요 사항을 심의ㆍ의결하기 위하여 국무총리 소속으로 외국인력정책위원회(이하 "정책위원회"라 한다)를 둔다.

In order to deliberate and resolve on major matters concerning the employment management and protection of foreign workers, a Foreign Workforce Policy Committee (hereinafter referred to as the "Policy Committee") shall be established under the Prime Minister.

정책위원회는 다음 각 호의 사항을 심의ㆍ의결한다. <개정 2021.4.13>

1. 외국인근로자 관련 기본계획의 수립에 관한 사항
2. 외국인근로자 도입 업종 및 규모 등에 관한 사항
3. 외국인근로자를 송출할 수 있는 국가(이하 "송출국가"라 한다)의 지정 및 지정취소에 관한 사항
4. 제18조의2제2항에 따른 외국인근로자의 취업활동 기간 연장에 관한 사항
5. 그 밖에 대통령령으로 정하는 사항

Matters concerning the industries and scale for the introduction of foreign workers, etc. 3. 정책위원회는 위원장 1명을 포함한 20명 이내의 위원으로 구성한다.

정책위원회의 위원장은 국무조정실장이 되고, 위원은 재정경제부ㆍ외교부ㆍ법무부ㆍ산업통상부ㆍ고용노동부ㆍ중소벤처기업부의 차관 및 대통령령으로 정하는 관계 중앙행정기관의 차관이 된다. <개정 2010.6.4, 2013.3.23, 2017.7.26, 2025.10.1>

외국인근로자 고용제도의 운영 및 외국인근로자의 권익보호 등에 관한 사항을 사전에 심의하게 하기 위하여 정책위원회에 외국인력정책실무위원회(이하 "실무위원회"라 한다)를 둔다.

In order to pre-deliberate matters concerning the operation of the foreign worker employment system and the protection of the rights and interests of foreign workers, a Foreign Workforce Policy Working Committee (hereinafter referred to as the "Working Committee") shall be established within the Policy Committee.

정책위원회와 실무위원회의 구성ㆍ기능 및 운영 등에 필요한 사항은 대통령령으로 정한다.
