Article 19 (Self-Payment of Costs)

The co-payment rate and amount, as referred to in Article 44 (1) of the Act (hereinafter referred to as "co-payment" in this Article), shall be as specified in Attached Table 2.

The total amount of co-payment, as referred to in Article 44 (2) 1. of the Act, shall be the sum of all co-payments borne by the recipient of medical benefits annually. The amount paid as hospitalization fees for using the general ward of a tertiary general hospital, general hospital, hospital, traditional Korean medicine hospital, nursing hospital (limited to nursing hospitals that are medical institutions meeting the requirements of Article 3-2 of the Medical Service Act as disability medical rehabilitation facilities under Article 58 (1) 4. of the Act on Welfare Services for Persons with Disabilities), psychiatric hospital, or the 2-bed or 3-bed rooms in general wards and psychiatric wards, as per Attached Table 2, Article 1 (a) 1). 1의2. The amount paid under Article 2, Item 1 (b) or Article 3, Item 10 (b) of Attached Table 2 for outpatient treatment received at a tertiary general hospital for a primary disease or injury prescribed and publicly notified by the Minister of Health and Welfare, as per Article 2, Item 1 (c) 3) of Attached Table 2. However, the amount paid by persons falling under any of the following shall be excluded: 가. Pregnant women 나. Persons under 6 years of age 다. Patients exempted from pharmaceutical dispensing under Article 2, Item 1 (b) of Attached Table 2 라. Persons who received infertility treatment prescribed and publicly notified by the Minister of Health and Welfare, as per Article 2, Item 3 (i) of Attached Table 2 마. Recipients of medical support under the following legal provisions: 1) Article 33 of the Act on the Honor and Establishment of Organizations for May 18 Democratic Patriots and Victims 2) Article 6 (2) of the Act on Support for and Establishment of Organizations for Victims of Agent Orange Poisoning, etc. 3) Article 41 of the Act on the Honor and Support for National Meritorious Persons, etc. 4) Article 17 of the Act on the Honor and Support for Independence Patriots 5) Article 50 of the Act on the Support for Persons Eligible for Compensation 6) Article 20 of the Act on Support for Discharged Soldiers 7) Article 7 of the Act on the Honor and Establishment of Organizations for Korean War Veterans 8) Article 32 of the Act on the Honor and Establishment of Organizations for Persons of Special Mission Service 2. The amount paid under Article 3, Items 5), 6), 9), and 10) of Attached Table 2 3. The amount paid under Article 3, Items (h) and (j) of Attached Table 2 4. When the Corporation pays an amount exceeding the co-payment ceiling, as referred to in the latter part of Article 44 (2) of the Act, it shall be paid to a deposit account designated by the party concerned (which refers to deposit accounts opened at postal offices under the Postal Savings and Insurance Act and banks under the Banking Act, and other deposit accounts prescribed by the Minister of Health and Welfare). However, if there are unavoidable reasons why payment cannot be made to the designated deposit account, payment may be made by the method prescribed by the Minister of Health and Welfare. <Amended by Act No. ZZZZ, June 11, 2019, Act No. EEEE, November 7, 2023, Act No. GGGG, August 20, 2024>
