공단에 임원으로 이사장 1명, 상임이사 4명 이내, 이사 10명, 감사 1명을 두되, 이사에는 다음 각 호에 해당하는 사람이 포함되어야 한다. <개정 2008.2.29, 2010.1.18, 2015.12.29, 2018.12.11, 2025.11.11>
1. 사용자 대표, 근로자 대표, 지역가입자 대표 및 수급자 대표 각 2명
2. 3년 이상 재직한 공단 소속 근로자(제3조제1항제1호에도 불구하고 「근로기준법」 제2조제1항제1호에 따른 근로자를 말한다. 이하 이 호에서 같다) 중에서 근로자 대표(근로자의 과반수로 조직된 노동조합이 있는 경우 그 노동조합의 대표자를 말한다)의 추천이나 근로자 과반수의 동의를 받은 사람 1명
3. 당연직 이사로서 보건복지부에서 국민연금 업무를 담당하는 3급 국가공무원 또는 고위공무원단에 속하는 일반직 공무원 1명
The Corporation shall have officers consisting of one Chairperson, not more than four Executive Directors, ten Directors, and one Auditor. The Directors shall include persons falling under the following categories: <Amended by Act No. 9404, Feb. 29, 2008; Act No. 9958, Jan. 18, 2010; Act No. 13699, Dec. 29, 2015; Act No. 16115, Dec. 11, 2018; Act No. 17790, Nov. 11, 2025> 1. Two representatives each of employers, workers, regional insured persons, and beneficiaries. 2. One person who has served for at least three years as an employee of the Corporation (in this subparagraph, referring to an employee as defined in Article 2 (1) 1 of the Labor Standards Act, notwithstanding Article 3 (1) 1) and who is recommended by the worker representatives (referring to the representative of a labor union organized by a majority of workers, if such a union exists) or has obtained the consent of a majority of workers. 3. One ex officio Director, who is a Grade 3 national civil servant or a general public official belonging to the Senior Civil Service responsible for National Pension affairs at the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
이사장은 보건복지부장관의 제청으로 대통령이 임면(任免)하고, 상임이사ㆍ이사(당연직 이사는 제외한다) 및 감사는 이사장의 제청으로 보건복지부장관이 임면한다. <개정 2008.2.29, 2010.1.18>
The Chairperson shall be appointed and dismissed by the President upon the proposal of the Minister of Health and Welfare. Executive Directors, Directors (excluding ex officio Directors), and the Auditor shall be appointed and dismissed by the Minister of Health and Welfare upon the proposal of the Chairperson. <Amended by Act No. 9404, Feb. 29, 2008; Act No. 9958, Jan. 18, 2010>
이사에게는 보수를 지급하지 아니한다. 다만, 실비(實費)는 지급할 수 있다.
